Hey there 🙂

I wanted to create an opportunity to actually get to know each other a little bit better.

Therefore I decided to answer all your Instagram questions in detail.

In return I am also interested in your answers to these questions, so feel free to let me know your answers in the comments ;).

Here is a first overview of your most popular questions:

  • What has been your motivation to start a blog?
  • What do you like most about traveling?
  • What has been your best experience while traveling?
  • If you could choose, where would you live for a long time and why?
  • What is your most special travel memory?
  • Have you ever experienced homesickness while traveling?
  • Which travel destinations have been your favorites so far?
  • What’s your zodiac sign and does it match your personality?
  • What’s your job and how do you manage to travel so much?
  • If someone could visit one city in Germany, which one would you recommend?

1.) What has been your motivation to start a blog?

I’ve actually wanted to start a blog for years! Creating my own website has been on my bucket list forever because I just love to share experiences and talk about traveling, food and lifestyle with others. I believe it is a great opportunity to get to know people with similar interests and mind-sets.

Many people have asked me about travel tips and this is the best and most detailed way of sharing them and getting tips back. Do you also run a blog? Leave your domain name in the comments and I’ll check it out :).

2.) What do you like most about traveling?

Traveling is all about broadening my horizon! I love learning about different cultures and experiencing lifestyles in different countries.

Traveling sets things into perspective for me . If you truly want to learn something about the world we live in, you need to travel.

I also definitely  learn so much more about myself by interacting with people all around the world. Seeing the world feels like obtaining a better understanding of life.

What do you love most about traveling?

3.) What has been your best experience while traveling?

My favorite experiences are always connected to people. I believe in positivity and helping each other, so I was highly impressed by the heartwarming attitudes of people in Bali. I’ve never experienced such a tremendous amount of generosity, helpfulness and peacefulness. That is one of the reasons why Bali absolutely took my breath away. Read more about this experience here.

Of course there were many other countries where people have been nothing but kind and helpful as well (e.g. United States, Turkey, Italy…). Have you ever experienced something similar? I’d love to hear about it :).

Another experience I have to mention was visiting Alcatraz! We were lucky enough to meet one of the last guards of Alcatraz, Jim Albright, who worked there until the prison was closed. The conversation with him was one of the most interesting ones I have ever had while traveling. It would be too long now to tell you about the whole experience but I’ll definitely write a blogpost about this in the future.

4.) If you could choose, where would you want to live for a long time and why?

That’s an easy one :). I would choose California without a doubt.

The landscape and the relaxing lifestyle there have always attracted me! You can reach the beach, the mountains, different lakes and amazing cities in no time!

As much as I love Hamburg, the cold weather is definitely a disadvantage. I generally prefer warm and sunny weather as well as outdoor activities like hiking, swimming or surfing. Therefore I would probably choose a nice place in Southern California, somewhere around San Diego or Los Angeles. Read more about why I love Los Angeles here.

What about you? Which place would you choose and why?

5.) What is your most special travel memory?

My most special travel memory has been created in Paris where my fiancé proposed to me. He took me on a surprise trip, I didn’t even know where we’d go until shortly before getting on the plane!

It was a magical weekend and I will cherish this memory for the rest of my life.

I’d love to hear about your most special memories :)!

6.) Have you ever experienced homesickness while traveling?

I can honestly say that I have never been homesick in my whole life. I definitely miss seeing my partner, family or friends if they’re not with me but I am always far too curious and excited to be wasting time being homesick.

Nevertheless I can understand that being away from home can be overwhelming.

Do you get homesick? Are there any cures that have helped you? Please do share :).

7.) Which travel destinations have been your favorites so far?

That’s a tough question because the list is so long!

Bali, Italy, Miami Beach, New York City, California and France (South of France, Paris) are definitely some favorites of mine but the list continues ;).

8.) What’s your zodiac sign and does it match your personality?

Haha, that’s a funny one 🙂 !

I’m a Leo and according to my partner, family and friends, I totally live up to the characteristics associated with this zodiac sign. In general I’m not very fond of stereotypes but I have to admit that most of it is true ;).

I would definitely describe myself as a creative, passionate, self-confident and hard-working person. However, I can also be very stubborn and sometimes inflexible once I have a plan set up in my head.

9.) What’s your job and how do you manage to travel so much?

I work as a secondary-school teacher.

Growing up with three younger brothers and one younger sister, it has become clear quite quickly that I want to pursue a career that includes working with teenagers and young adults. It’s definitely not always an easy job but I love it!

Fortunately for me, my job gives me the possibility  to work very hard for 7 or 8 weeks and enjoy some holidays afterwards. I generally use half of my holiday time to travel to the destinations on my bucket list.

I love that a teacher’s job is valued in Germany so I don’t have to take a second job in order to pay for my travels.

10.) If someone could visit one city in Germany, which one would you recommend?

I would totally recommend visiting Hamburg.

In my opinion it is the most beautiful city in Germany and you’ll also have the opportunity to see the North Sea and the Baltic Sea since they’re really close.

My plan is to write a detailed blogpost about visiting Hamburg so you’ll be able to see for yourself why it’s worth a visit ;).

In case you have already visited Hamburg, Cologne, Munich and Berlin would be my second recommendations.

I hope you have enjoyed reading the answers to your questions =) ! Please feel free to ask more questions anytime, I’m always happy to answer them!
